China struggles to combat designer drugs trade
Article Abstract:
The production and consumption of synthetic drugs in China is a major problem for the country and internationally as China becomes a leading world supplier of illegal amphetamine-type of stimulants. One reason for this is Asia's fast developing pharmaceutical industry with China and India being the world's largest producers of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine both precursor chemicals that are increasingly being routed to the illegal production of methamphetamines.
