Chine courts Latin America
Article Abstract:
The Chinese president Hu Jintao's tour to Latin America in November 2004 saw him pledge heavy investments worth US$30 billion in the region, along with a number of long-term commodity supply contracts. The U.S is looking upon the growing trade relations between Latin America and China as a security threat.

China continues its economic growth, and its somewhat cautious integration with the international community, but there is no indication that it will abandon its 'one-China' policy. This means that China has no intention of changing its policy toward Taiwan.
