DPKR spy-ships chased on high seas
Article Abstract:
Japan defense forces chased two high-speed infiltration vessels from North Korea out of Japanese territorial waters between Mar 23, 1999 to Mar 25, 1999. The nature and details of the spy vessels' mission has remained unclear, but Japanese officials say that intercepted radio transmissions believed to be related to the ships suggest that the objective was to exfiltrate an agent or agents from Japan. An evaluation of the incident reveals a number of notable features, some of which suggest that the operation was most likely a routine one for North Korean intelligence.

CEE arms exporters making a comeback
Article Abstract:
The defense industries of Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries are staging a comeback following years of stagnation and decline since the end of the Cold War. CEE countries are marketing their military wares in export countries more vigorously but within the arms export limits set by NATO and the EU. Government intervention as well as privatization is also making CCE's defense industries more competitive.
