Ethics and combat: Thoughts for small unit leaders
Article Abstract:
The ethical conduct of small unit leaders, who are almost peers and near peers in the Marine Corps hierarchy, can be and, in the Marine experience, is a powerful force for helping other Marines in maintaining the values and ethics of the Corps. The teaching of ethical conduct by such leaders can have a greater long-term impact than that provided by senior commanders who more removed from day-to-day contact with the individual Marine.
