The US Office of Naval Research's Wide Area Relay Network will be tested during Exercise Kernel Blitz on June 18-24, 2001, which will include naval ships, amphibious units, unmanned air vehicles, helicopters and ground troops. The article details the WARNET components.

MP-RTIP flourishes in ground-based trials
Article Abstract:
Northrop Grumman and Raytheon successfully completed initial ground-based development testing of the advanced airborne surveillance and tracking radar that they have been developing jointly for the US Air Force (USAF) under its Multi-Platform-Radar Technology Insertion Program (MP-RTIP). The radar exceeded its objective requirements in areas such as beam width, beam steering characteristics, transmit power, receiver sensitivity and antenna gain.
