Giat Industries: consolidation and development
Article Abstract:
Giat Industries' general director and president, Jacques Loppion, cited in an interview with the Military Technology publication that the firm's 1997 financial performance, while less satisfactory in terms of its plans to create more operating reserves, exhibited a strong improvement in the company's productivity. Loppion also reiterated that the land-armament manufacturer has managed to lessen its staffing levels while boosting its productivity levels. Giat Industries, which has the LECLERC MBT as its key product offering in terms of sales and technology, is steadily seeking to achieve its dual strategy of development and consolidation for its operations, with greater focus on participating in European cooperation initiatives.
