Impending shake-up of UAE Armed Forces command systems alerts lead companies

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces' quest for improved command information systems (CIS) at the joint headquarters, land component commander, and battlefield levels proved to be a magnet for several of the world's leading command-and-control companies. The UAE's Special Forces principal requirements are to introduce CIS for a new joint operations centre (JOC) and for its subordinated land component commanded (LCC).

CWID 06 looks to plug C2 capability gaps
Article Abstract:
The 2006 Coalition Warrior Inter-operability Demonstration (CWID 06), inheritor of the annual US-sponsored global command-and-control exercise, entered its 3-week long assessment phase on June 5, 2006. NATO's CWID demonstration was framed to look at the interoperability of NATO and national command-and-control information systems designated to support rotations of the NATO Response Force over the next two years.
