India's new approach to comprehensive security
Article Abstract:
The distinct and compartmentalised responsibilities of security forces have shown signs of blurring as evident from the increasing role of armed forces, especially the Army, in counter-insurgency and other internal security duties. Three pillars of Indian national strategy as outlined are, India must strengthen its economic and technological powers, acquire adequate defence capabilities to counter threats to national security and seek partnership to widen policy and developmental options.
