InterMet Africa unveils GPS-based sonde
Article Abstract:
InterMet Africa has built up a GPS-based sonde for use in conjunction with its IMS-1600 militarized meteorological tracking station. The 1.2 m dish of the IMS-1600 meteorological tracking station has a slant range of more than 250 km, with a tracking accuracy of 0.2 degree in azimuth and elevation, and it is compatible with Sippican Mk II, IMD Mk IV and Valsala RS-80 sondes as well as the proprietary BAT16GP.
