K-Span construction: expeditionary engineering for the 21st century
Article Abstract:
Expeditionary steel structures called 'K-Spans' are being erected at Camp Wilson, Marine Corps Airground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA. The 21st century expeditionary base camp is being constructed by 7th Engineer Support Battalion and Marine wing support squadron combat engineers with the goal of replacing all D-Huts and strongback tents at the camp. The reverse construction process has been employed in erecting the steel structures.
