Lynx opens window to mission planning on a PC

Article Abstract:

Thomson Racal Defence has been awarded a contract for the supply of AMS 2000 control display and navigation units (CDNUs) to be installed on the UK Royal Navy's Lynx HMA Mk8 helicopters. The CDNUs will enhance flight and mission planning capabilities of the Lynx helicopter. Two CDNUs will be fitted in place of the Lynx's original cockpit computers to allow crew to upload data from a personal computer running on a Mission Ground Station software.

Turkish and Norwegian boost for CMS

Article Abstract:

Thomson Marconi Sonar has been awarded contracts for the supply of sonar suites to the Norwegian and Turkish navies. The contract with the Norwegian Navy involves equipping each of its five new frigates ordered from the Empresa Nacioal Bazan with the advanced Combined Active/Passive Towed Array Sonar and the Spherion MRS 2000 hull-mounted sonar. The Turkish Navy ordered six Sonar 2093 Minehunting Systems for is new minehunting vessels.

Upgrade for Norway's Coast Guard

Article Abstract:

EDO Combat Systems is the prime contractor for the extensive upgrade program for the Norwegian Coast Guard's Nordkapp-class Offshore Patrol vessels. Together with regional partner Electronicon A/s, they will also upgrade two other OPV and Andenes, with completion scheduled for Nov 2002. Meanwhile, Inforcom Systems A/S has been awarded a contract to provide the ICS 2000 Integrated Communication System on the vessels.
