Making waves: solutions for communications at depth
Article Abstract:
The changing role of the submarine, difficulty in communication faced when the submarine is submerged under water and introduction of unmanned underwater vehicles is discussed. The problem of communication in submarines submerged under water is solved by the U.S. Navy's Communications at Speed and Depth program that provides dependable and two way information transfer.

The U.S. Navy due to certain difficulties had to cancel the order of General Dynamics second Littoral Combat Ship prototype (LCS 4). The U.S. Navy is expecting the completion and launch of LCS 2 in February 2008.
