Article Abstract:
The United States Marine Corps is changing by adapting new methods and technologies for combating various types of threats and has successfully overcome the readiness problems caused due to budget shortages. The two services US Navy and Marine Corps have become more powerful after their unification and they will celebrate it on 13th January at the Naval Academy, where Gen. Michael W. Hagee will be sworn in as successor to James L. Jones.

Gen. Michael W. Hagee has succeeded Gen. James L. Jones as the new Marine Corps Commandant. A glimpse into Marine Corps future priorities such as continued warfighting excellence, Navy-Marine togetherness, special operations, the importance of the all-volunteer force in making Marines, increased support for Marine families, and transitioning the Marine Corps for the 21st century are described.

Marine Corps plans to revamp outmoded logistics system

Marine Corps are planning for modernization of their logistics system as Operation Iraqi Freedom demonstrated that the Marine CorpsE antiquated logistics system could not keep up with the fast-paced maneuver on battlefield. The first step in the CorpsE logistics modernization is to replace its 30-year-old information technology systems and processes that performed badly in Iraq.
