Midlife conversion of submarines: navigation requirements
Article Abstract:
The change in the operational requirements of navies would usually result in the increased demand on the performance of the submarine's equipment and systems, such as the need for more accurate navigation systems. Four companies have delivered almost all the navigation systems used in the upgrade of conventional submarines. These are Raytheon Marine of Germany, Sagem of France, Litton Industries's Sperry Marine division in the US, and Litton Industries' LITEF division Germany.
