NATO seeks a standard bearer for encryption in coalition operations
Article Abstract:
Encryption, which hampers communications in coalition operations, might be made a manageable proposition under a Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol (SCIP) architecture, which is a standardized framework to allow end-to-end encryption over heterogeneous networks, advanced by the NATO. Manufacturers of radio encryption sets such as Thales, Harris Systems and EADS are considering manufacture of systems which are SCIP-compliant.
