Power projection for the new world disorder
Article Abstract:
The US Navy's new DD-21 land-attack destroyers are expected to provide Marines and Army units the needed accuracy, volume and distance of fire support during military operations. To enhance the DD-21's lethality, the Navy is developing two 155mm vertical guns for advanced ships (VGAS). The naval guns are capable of firing the rocket-assisted extended range guided munitions (ERGM) and could hit targets at a distance of 100 nautical miles. The vessel will also be armed with surface-to-air missile and land-attack Standard missile.

The missile killers
Article Abstract:
The US is counting on its various Navy programs that would field medium- and long-range theater ballistic missile systems to counter growing threat of foreign ballistic missile development. The first part of the Navy's efforts is called the 'Navy Area,' which is set on countering short-range ballistic missiles such as the Soviet-designed Scud. Meanwhile, the Navy Theater Wide program focuses on long- and medium-range ballistic missiles that can be launched against targets throughout a regional theater of operations.
