The US Navy's Common Undersea Picture (CUP) program, will act as the command-and-control decision support system for its undersea water (USW) platforms. A market survey has been conducted by the SPAWAR (Space and Naval Systems Command) Systems Center (SSC) - Diego to evaluate industry's response to the need for large underwater surveillance systems that would be expected to transfer data to shore for analysis in support of homeland-security operations and whose cost could be anywhere between US$50 million and US$400 million.
