Article Abstract:
The late Rear Adm. Richard E. Byrd was enshrined in the National Hall of Fame in 1968, as he had participated in the first-ever flight over the South-Pole in November 1929, and USAF Col. Brent Balchen was enshrined in the National Hall of Fame in 1973, as he was the chief pilot of Byrd's Ford trimotor during the 1929 Antarctic expedition. Their personal experiences, lives and the controversies about the North Pole trip are described.

Welsh, better known as Doc Welsh, an honor awarded to creators of successful and innovative class programs that further the concepts of aerospace technologies. His approach to teaching physics is based on demonstrating practical applications of natural laws.
