Lieutenant General Peter van Uhm, Commander Royal Netherlands Army discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that Netherlands armed forces have experienced great changes that involve a so-called concern/unit structure, with a Central Staff at the concern level, the Chief of Defence in the role operator and corporate planner and Operational Commands and Services Centers at the implementation level.

Article Abstract:
Arvydas Pocius, Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that upon the completion of current defense reforms, Lithuania is planning to have at least 50% of its Land Forces structured, trained and equipped for deployment operations outside Lithuania, and at least 10% for planning or undertaking sustained operations at any time.
