Article Abstract:
Sweden-based Saab Systems has developed a Panoramic Low-Signature Sight (PLSS) remote weapon station (RWS), which is to be installed on a Swedish Army Strv 122 (Leopard 2A5) main battle tank (MBT). The PLSS-RWS is intended to provide the tank commander with increased protection with a 7.62 mm machine gun and improved situational awareness by reducing blind zones around the tank, and the sensor/weapon platform is mounted on a telescopic mast, which is mounted on the tank turret in place of the commander's sight.
