Speed at the sea is the key for intra-theatre lift
Article Abstract:
The Aluminium-hulled-high-speed vessels provide high speed, rapid entry and exit from port, quick offload and reload of cargo and passengers once in port and also allow access to ports with shallow water or tidal restrictions, with reduced operating cost. The United States Army, United States Navy, and United States Marine Corporation began to develop separate requirements for the High Speed Vessels since this technology is attractive for intra-theatre support as it enables troops and equipment to be moved at significantly lower costs.
