Standardize the family readiness officer

The Key Volunteer Network (KVN), designed by Marine Corps order (MCO) provides valuable resources, information and support to Marine Corps Marines, sailors, spouse and families. Family readiness officer (FRO) is responsible for administratively supporting the unit's KVN under the leadership of the commanding officer and the key volunteer coordinator, a position held by a volunteer unit spouse.

The business community in a supporting effort's role

The activation of Guardsmen and Reserves following 9/11 has meant a drop in salary, medical benefits for dependants and various other hardships to servicemembers. In a supporting effort, the business community has responded by actively supporting the families of deployed servicemembers.
