The Brazilian armed forces and defence policy: current status and future prospects
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the influence of the National Defense Policy (PDN) of 1996 and the creation of the Ministry of Defense in 1998 on the Brazilian military system is explored. The PDN made way for a coherent, global plan involving all military and civil components. The Ministry of Defense led to reorganization that followed patterns used by other countries.
