Article Abstract:
General Sir Mike Jackson GCB CBE DSO ADC Gen, Chief of the General Staff in Britain discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. Since 1990 the British Army has been continuously employed on operations across the spectrum, from high intensity warfare, to counter-insurgency, to peace support operations, to humanitarian relief, and all in addition to long-standing experience of Internal Security operations in Northern Ireland.
