Uncivil affair: Army resists push to move nation-builders out of SoCom
Article Abstract:
The Army and US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld are looking into whether civil affairs (CA) troops should be removed from the U.S. Special Operations Command and placed under the aegis of mainstream Army commanders. Rumsfeld wants security tightened in Iraq and is looking to special operations forces to do it and he clearly believes the CA's nation-building mission does not help bolster security.

Risking critique: Red Teaming makes open criticism normal in military culture
Article Abstract:
The need for encouraging the practice of Red Teaming by which members are assigned to objectively critique seniors' decisions is emphasized. It can normalize open and constructive internal criticism in the American military culture.
