Adm. Thomas H. Collins, commandant of the Coast Guard, since May 2002, talks about the Coast Guard's new capabilities, added capacities and funds, which are essential for building the readiness for the homeland security mission and to modernize the force structure. The Coast Guard's highest priorities include the Deepwater, the Integrated Deepwater System and modernizing the fleets of aircraft and ships and the associated sensor systems.

Military sealift command ships
Article Abstract:
Military Sealift Command (MSC) of the United States Navy has delivered 60 million square feet of dry cargo and more than 6 billion gallons of fuel for U.S. and allied warfighters in the field and at sea between September 11, 2001 and October 1, 2004. As of 2004, Bridge, the last of the Navy's four Supply-class combat support ships was transferred to the Military Sealift Command.
