Towards a naval 155?
Article Abstract:
United Defense USA is in the process of developing a 155-mm caliber turret for the US Navy DD-21 land attack destroyer. The company is the beneficiary of the renewed role placed on naval fires as a major means of engaging the enemy instead of simply being a means of providing cover to friendly troops. This development is further supported by the improvements in naval gun fire, including the ability to deliver large quantities of ordnance in a short time, from farther away and in an accurate manner.
