Towards an unmanned Navy: The growing world of UAV, UCAV, USV and UUV
Article Abstract:
The existing and future Naval procurements and capabilities of China and India are discussed in terms of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV), unmanned surface vehicles (USV) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV). The capabilities of the naval superpower US are analyzed, concluding that these systems can be used for controlling peace processes in addition to their warfare capabilities.

The U.S. Navy has developed a plan to build a fleet of 313 ships that is responsive to the challenges of 21st century. The challenges of affordability of the shipbuilding strategy, the actual construction costs and their repercussions on the execution of the plan are reviewed.
