Training for a changed force
Article Abstract:
The war on terrorism, a shrinking fighter force and technological improvements are among the factors that are driving some big changes at Air Education and Training Command. The Air Force would hold a meeting in December 2005 to determine the right number of pilots to be produced each year from 2005 to 2020 as it is planning to reduce its fighter force by 25 percent.

Ronald M. Sega was sworn in as the new undersecretary of the US Air Force, but the director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) title was missing from his portfolio. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld appointed Donald M. Kerr as a new NRO director in July 2005, whose sole responsibility would be the management of that organization.
