Turkish Navy orders maritime patrol aircraft
Article Abstract:
The Turkish Defense Undersecratariat signed a $210 million contract with Italy's Alenia Aeronautica on 20 July 2005 for the procurement of 10 ATR 72 Maritime Patrol and Surveillance Aircraft for its Navy. Alenia Aeronautica would start delivering the aircraft by 2006, with all 10 airframes in service by 2007, where upon Turkish manufactures will provide around 20 percent of the work for the aircraft.

Pakistani Navy plans to procure U.S. P-3 maritime aircraft
Article Abstract:
Pakistani Navy (PN) Chief Adm. Shahid Karimullah plans to acquire additional Lockheed P-3C Orion long-range maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) for the Pakistani fleet. PN is also expanding its overall fleet of long-range maritime patrol aircraft from the United States to supplement the two already in service, for a total fleet of eight.

Portugal expands roster of maritime patrol aircraft
Article Abstract:
The Portuguese Ministry of Defense acquired Spain's twelve C-295 tactical transport aircraft after it signed a contract with Spain's EADS CASA on February 17, 2006. The $331.9 million contract will include five C-295MP aircraft equipped with the FITS (Fully Integrated Tactical System) maritime surveillance system.
