UK charts new route for MCM capability
Article Abstract:
Equipment capability managers in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) have developed a radical future vision of a re-capitalized mine countermeasures (MCM) capability optimized to deliver MCM effects in support of joint maritime expeditionary operations in the littoral with the programme of incremental upgrades for the UK Royal Navy's (RNs) legacy MCM force in operation. The Sonar 2093 variable-depth sonar are specifically designed for operations at depth down to 200m.

UK MoD initiates Project Eagle for RAF E-3D Sentry AWACS fleet
Article Abstract:
The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has initiated Project Eagle, the next major mission system upgrade to the Royal Air Force (RAF) fleet of seven Boeing E-3D Sentry AEW.1 AWACS (Airborne Warning And Control System) aircraft in 2006. The MoD announced on 31 January 2006 that it had selected Boeing Integrated Defense Systems and Lockheed Martin Systems Integration as the two preferred bidders to compete in a technology demonstration phase of the programme.
