UKEs new-look strike force put to the test
Article Abstract:
Eight hundred and one Naval Air Squadron (NAS) was decommissioned at RNAS Yeovilton and after two days 800 NAS was recommissioned at RAF Cottesmore, as part of Royal Navy/Royal Air Force Joint Force Harrier that reflected a renewed emphasis on delivering offensive air power from the sea. At an annual exercise 'Magic Carpet 06' offered an ideal opportunity for 800 NAS to use the extensive range facilities and to be tested within a controlled environment.
