U.S. battleships avenge Pearl Harbor attack at Surigao strait
Article Abstract:
Japanese Navy, fully aware of the strategic implications of an American return to the Philippine Islands, executed a bold plan to disrupt the invasion force where two potent groups of battleships and cruisers under Vice Adm. Shoji Nishimura and Vice Adm. Kiyohide Shima surged through Surigao Strait to the landing area from the south. The Japanese ships proceeding toward Surigao Strait endured some air attacks on the morning of the 24th October 1994, but steamed undisturbed through the rest of the day.

The third wave
Article Abstract:
The 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor invloved two waves of aircraft, flying from Japanese aircraft carriers, and inflicting vast damage to the naval base. However, had a third wave been launched, the damage might have been even more devastating and more difficult to recover from.

The epic cruise of the Essex

The epic cruise of the frigate USS Essex during the war of 1812 between the Great Britain and the United States is illustrated. The 32-gun warship, was built at Salem, Mass, in the nineteenth century, fought the Quasi-War with France and during the Barbary Wars.
