Article Abstract:
Gen Michael Walker, Chief-of-Staff of the British Army, said post-Cold War military operations would be smaller in scale but with their own peculiar requirements. Walker added that British forces may have to be transported to the area of conflict rather than the reverse. They may also have to operate in areas where supporting infrastructure is limited or non- existent. He added that British troops may also have to sustain non- warfighting operations for indefinite periods.
