Upgraded 'Hips' complete first mission
Article Abstract:
Two Macedonian helicopters upgraded by Elbit Systems of Israel with a full day/night capability completed Macedonia's first-ever international mission as they were scheduled to return from Operation 'Bukefal' in Bosnia-Herzegovina in January 2007. Macedonia is presently in the process of having its helicopter fleet of Russian-build Mil Mi-8/-17 "Hips" and Mi-24V "Hinds" that is upgraded with advanced avionics systems from Elbit.
