Violence escalates in Iraq
Article Abstract:
Violence in Iraq increased in March and April 2004, following the US Marines' battle to suppress an uprising in Fallujah, and the US Army and other coalition troops' engagement in putting down uprisings in other areas of Iraq. Due to the increased violence, the Pentagon announced that the tours of the 1st Armored Division, the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment and supporting units already in Iraq would be extended by at least three months.

U.S. army captures Saddam - violence continues in Iraq
Article Abstract:
The capture of Saddam Hussein in the village of Ad Dawr is one of the greatest successes for the coalition forces fighting in Iraq. The U.S. soldiers are maintaining vigil and offensive against sporadic attacks mainly from rocket-propelled grenades, mortars, and small arm fires.
