Macquarie Bank has introduced Blue Chip, a new way to invest in the sharemarket that provides partial protection against loss. It allows investors to diversify into the sharemarket using some of their own money and funds provided by Macquarie. Should the market collapse, investors may lose all their money, but will not be left in debt.

Wrap services allow investors to track elements of their portfolio on-line. Investors must accept complexity in their portfolios if they are to profit from their investments, but this leads to an administrative burden. Master funds shifted the burden to a funds manager at the cost of reduced control and high administrative fees.

Inflexibility of superannuation and the inability of aged Australian to access their annuation discourage personal contributions. Encouraging older Australians to stay in work for longer times & using superannuation to fund for genuine retirement can resolve the problem of superannuation.
