Stock analysts Victor Alboini and Brian Schofield have devised a new way to calculate a firm's investment potential based on shareholder value. The shareholder value is the difference between cash return on capital minus the cost of that capital. The top 100 Canadian firms have been evaluated.

Will Canada survive a post-national world?

Canada is changing from a nation that carefully guarded its cultural heritage into a post-national state that cares little about such matters. Indications of this change can be found in the decline in state support for artists and in the high number of foreigners who head Canadian firms.
