ATB strips Pocklington of fee income
Article Abstract:
Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB) has ordered Canbra Foods Ltd. to take away income of $40,000 a month from entrepreneur Peter Pocklington and instead pay the amount to the bank through receiver-manager KPMG Inc. In a court hearing in Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the state-owned ATB said that the income should have been paid to the holding company, Pocklington Financial Corp. Canbra said that it will abide by ATB's requests upon resolution of some legal issues. Canbra President Larry McNamara said that Pocklington deserves to receive the payment since he provides the management advice.
