Abdul Sari, Director of Westside Youth Centre in Sydney's Liverpool neighborhood, is a politically active Muslim of Lebanese descent, and is concerned that Australia's news media do not give a great deal of coverage to matters of concern to the Muslim population in Australia. In fact, the news coverage of the attacks on the World Trade Center has produced an anti-Muslim tension, so that Muslims are all suspect in the eyes of Anglo-Australians. Sari complains that the police target any youths who do not look like they are white, making it very difficult for those youths to respect the police.
