Plans for the Health Resources Medical Center in Calgary, Alberta, have become the center of a political controversy over private health services in Canada. Supporters of the Canadian health care system fear the facility could lead to further moves into private health care.

The Olympic mecca on the prairie
Article Abstract:
Top Canadian athletes are using the facilities built in Calgary for the 1988 Winter Olympics to train for the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. Calgary has done a better job than other Olympic host cities at using its sports facilities after the Games ended.
