Alberta Energy makes bid for spinoff
Article Abstract:
Alberta Energy Co. Ltd. (Calgary), reversing the direction it took three years ago, has offered to buy the shares of AEC Pipelines LP (Calgary) it does not already own for $288-million in shares. AEC Pipelines said the deal to purchase 30% of the company is fair and recommended it to shareholders. Alberta Energy is offering 0.1552 common shares for the 32 million outstanding class A shares of AEC Pipelines, which works out to $9 a share based on AEC's trading price Thursday of $57.85 a share.
