Alternative trading systems a step closer
Article Abstract:
The Ontario Securities Commission is backing a plan to allow alternative trading systems to compete against traditonal exchanges, such as the Toronto Stock Exchange. The OSC, which anticipates a December 2000 launch date for the ATS's, has the support of major institutional investors for the electronic exchanges.
