Article Abstract:
Michael Sexton, president of the California Medical Association stated that instead of assisted suicide, patients should be provided better pain therapy, end-of-life care and hospice services. Attempts are being made to reinstate the interpretive rule which construes that Oregon's assisted suicide law ran afoul of the federal controlled Substances Act and did not consider it a legitimate medical purpose.
