Top executives are also offered pension plans in addition to huge salaries, bonuses and stock options. A typical pension plan is designed to give provie top management an annual retirement income equal to 2% of pay multiplied by the number of years in the company. Executive pensions, or supplmental executive retirment plans, usually play bigger roles in industries that need professional management as banking, and less in entrepreneural type of industry such as mining exploration.
