BMO posts 36% surge in profit

The fourth largest bank in Canada, the Bank of Montreal, has reported a 36% rise in second quarter profits to $409 million. BOM, which has reduced its loan-loss provisions by two-thirds, is led by chief executive officer Tony Comper.
