The Internet was supposed to revolutionize the business-to-business market by allowing both suppliers and customers to save money via electronic transactions. Gartner had estimated that e-marketplaces will rack up $7.29 trillion in business-to-business transactions by 2004. However, the field has become cluttered with inefficient operations which should be replaced with private markets.

Remote monitoring allows coaches to evaluate sports performances without having to be at the same location. A system developed by the Victorian Institute of Sport uses a Sony-Ericsson T39 telephone, allowing coaches to monitor athletes in different parts of the world.
