Beyond the PC: atomic QC
Article Abstract:
Scientists are developing quantum computers which can perform calculations a billion times faster than Pentium III PCs. Quantum computers use atomic particles and the principles of quantum mechanics to do calculations instead of the transistors and electronics of traditional chip-based computers. Programming a quantum computer would involve tapping the properties of qubits, which allow simultaneous calculations instead of the linear process used in current software programs. Companies such as Hewlett-Packard and IBM are conducting studies on quantum computers.

Pulsing with promise
Article Abstract:
Time Domain's invention, the digital pulse technology, is a means to relay information wirelessly using pulses of radion energy. Larry Fullerton's invention, which is also known as ultra-wide band, could open up capacity for radio communication and could run on one-thousandth the power of gadgets that utilize radion waves. Likewise, Huntsville, AL-based company's digital pulse technology transmits pulses that can be read by timing the incoming pulses to 10 picoseconds.
