Body Shop in negotiations to get ownership makeover

The owners of venerable cosmetics retailer Body Shop Canada are in advanced negotiations to sell privately held company to London-based Body Shop International PLC (BSI). The co-owner of the firm Body Shop Canada, Margot Franssen states that the deal is not a fait accompli and she expects the sale to go ahead and an announcement from BSI detailing financial terms to be made by July 15, 2004.

Retailers ring up record sales in month
Article Abstract:
Statistics Canada reported that retailers recorded high seasonally adjusted sales of $27.4-billion in March 2004, which is up 1.2 per cent from February 2004 and 4.1 per cent higher than the previous year. Another report surging auto sales propelled wholesale trade up 4.6 per cent in March 2004 to $37.6-billion.
