National and international shortage of pathologists, especially those specializing in forensic services, has forced Australia to opt for progressive centralization of autopsy services in specialized forensic centers, thus delaying the burial or cremation of the dead bodies in the rural areas. Putting in extra hours to do work that is unpleasant is considered the responsible factor for the shortage of pathologists.
